Occupied

What started as a few protestors rallying for the 99%, corporate responsibility and reformed tax system camping in Zucotti Park ballooned into an international movement. Despite criticism of the movement, the camps have continued to spread across the country. The movement has repeatedly clashed with the police and direct actions, rallies and marches often end with arrests. As winter grew near, and city governments grew frustrated, many camps were issued eviction notices.

Occupied explores the first one hundred days of the Occupy Movement. Occupied allows the user to follow the daily activity of the movement by seeing the camps across the country, arrests throughout the movement and the twitter activity. If expanded as an interactive visualization, the user would be able to isolate a camp or a specific date to see a more detailed view of the activity or look and filter the demographic data of those involved with the movement.
